Baila has been working with emerging adults and their families in inpatient and outpatient settings for over a decade on the east coast, west coast and abroad. Her wealth of experience with young adults transcends her psychotherapy career; she was also a high school and gap-year teacher and co-founded a nonprofit surf camp for adolescents.
Affectionately dubbed “Dr. B”, she brings a laser-focused intensity and passion to her work that is seamlessly interwoven with laughter and play. Certified in Traumatic Stress Studies by Bessel van der Kolk’s institute and trained in a wide variety of treatment modalities including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment-Based Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy, her practice is dynamic, creative and inspired.
Baila believes deeply in the power and resilience of families. Described by grateful clients as “a magician”, she has become “the parent whisperer”, providing sure and steady guidance to families in crisis and helping them find their way back to themselves and each other.
She has a private practice on the westside that helps individuals, families, and organizations use trauma and crisis to evolve, transform and create lasting change.
If you can’t find her, Baila is probably on a plane heading east, teaching yoga, reading, writing a book or working on her latest nonprofit.
