Madeleine Kennell is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Madeleine received her master’s degree in clinical psychology at Antioch University with a specialization in Trauma studies. Madeleine has also been certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral and has received extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), The Gottman Method (Couples therapy), and the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM). Madeleine pulls from these models in her work as well as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Theory, and the use of Somatic Experiencing and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE). Before coming to Visions, Madeleine worked in community based mental health at the Antioch University Counseling Center serving individuals, adolescents, couples, and families. She also previously served as an executive assistant for Angels at Risk—an L.A.-based nonprofit focused on prevention of drug and alcohol use among children, teens, and families. On her off days, Madeleine spends her time going to the beach with her husband, Russell, and their rottweiler, Phantom. “And life is what we make it. Always has been. Always will be.”
