Patients come from southern California, big cities like Chicago, New York City and international countries. Visions offers an extensive clinically-based rehabilitation program for ages 13 to 18 years old extending to family members.
Visions Adolescent Treatment Center offers three programs in the Los Angeles area. Adolescent Day School, Adolescent Residential Treatment and Adolescent Outpatient Counseling are all staffed by highly skilled professionals specializing in teenage recovery.
Visions Adolescent Day School provides a safe surrounding for students unable to function in a mainstream environment while providing adolescent treatment. Classes are held 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday to Friday with tutoring as required. Education services are from remedial to honors level. The student to staff ratio is 3 to 1. Curriculums meet the educational needs of students that have set their sights on a higher education. Weekly individual counseling sessions provide students with opportunities to discuss their progress, challenges and struggles. Weekly random drug tests are administered for the safety of students.

- Complete general education to reintegrate into a mainstream high school environment.
- Make-Up courses missed due to extenuating circumstances.
Several Visions adolescent treatment day school graduates have been accepted to esteemed colleges and universities.
Visions Adolescent Residential Treatment center is a secluded 25 acre gated community in the hills of Malibu, California. A Mediterranean style dwelling with a home-like setting provides a sense of warmth and security. Sleeping quarters are separate for male and female with two in each room. Crisis intervention is available on a 24 hour bases while the rooms are under constant supervision of a day and evening staff. The average stay ranges from 45 to 90 days depending on the severity of symptoms and psychosocial stressors.
A Medical Doctor experienced in mental health and substance abuse treatment performs the initial diagnosis. The Program Director supervises all counseling services in the adolescent treatment program. Psychologist conduct psychological tests upon admission. A Licensed Therapist and Counselor work with the patient throughout treatment. A Registered Dietitian plans nutritious meals with appropriate caloric intake and provides dietary consultation as needed. An Equine Therapist uses horses to help in identifying and recognizing feelings difficult through conventional therapy. Art Therapists help the child create interpretive art for use in the treatment plan.

Visions teaches each child to become involved in the community. The resident helps in determining additional goals like examining psychological conflicts, pursuing educational and vocational interest.
Objectives of Visions Adolescent Treatment:
- Encourage and motivate the teen to achieve and sustain a healthy lifestyle.
- Determine and meet the psychological and psychiatric need of the teen.
- Involve family members in the rehabilitation process to reduce dysfunction within the family.
Each adolescent treatment resident takes part in three hours of individualized schooling on weekdays using a personalized curriculum. An Activities Consultant leads a “tailor-made” physical fitness program focusing on the release of nervous tensions.
Family Passes is a unique feature offered to well behave adolescent treatment patients. Outings every Sunday and Monday include movies, museums, the beach, go-cart racing, community service, ropes course and rock climbing.
Visions Residential is a private pay program and full payment is required from the family. Our team will assist with insurance benefit verification & utilization review.
Visions Adolescent Outpatient Counseling has two Los Angeles clinics providing solution-based programs to meet the patient’s objectives on an individual, group and family basis. Sessions are held 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday to Friday with Wednesdays for rest.
1st Step Program is an introduction to the beginning of the adolescent treatment process. The program helps teens and families reintegrate into everyday life after long term treatment. Vision’s staff walks parents through the reality of their teen’s new lifestyle and explains the next step.
- 8 weeks of clinical support
- 2 to 3 nights per week
- 1 individual session
Intensive Outpatient Program is the second step in the recovery process. Benefits offered are 1 year of clinical support, parent support group and drug tests.

- Address existing psychiatric and/or therapeutic needs.
- Develop a solid foundation of support within the community.
Visions Outpatient works out of network with insurance. We will provide the following services to our Outpatient families: Benefit Verification, Pre-Authorization, Utilization Review, Billing & Collections.
The Fourth Dimension is Visions Alumni Program open to patients that complete the active adolescent treatment programs. Residents attend up to two aftercare groups weekly on an on-going basis. Individual sessions are available for a charge. A Visions Alumni Coordinator makes a support call for crises intervention or relapse prevention.
