Mental health treatment focuses on addressing the symptoms of a mental disorder via therapy and medication while helping teens develop the skills needed to cope with symptoms in the long-term. A mood or anxiety disorder does not go away after treatment, and teens and families who come to Visions and work with our staff understand that an important part of treating a mental health disorder is to develop the tools to live with it, seek out support, and continuously strive for improvements in quality-of-life.
An important part of the journey is the Teen Transitional Living Program aspect – the transition from treatment to normal living. Visions offers extended care through our Teen Transitional Living Program, which focuses on an in-depth experience built to walk teens through all crucial stages of the treatment process, from therapy and medication management to developing important coping mechanisms, lesson planning, continuing care, family and peer support, and reintroduction into normal, social living.
