Priya has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine, where she cultivated a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and psychological principles. Priya furthered her education by earning a Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Northridge (CSUN).
Priya’s professional expertise lies in incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into her practice. With over three years of experience in residential levels of care, Priya has worked extensively with teens struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, anger/oppositional behaviors, and dual diagnoses. Her work also extends to community-based mental health, addressing systemic and environmental factors affecting mental well-being. The main focus of Priya’s work is to promote symptom reduction, enhance livelihood and quality of life, and target maladaptive behaviors through cognitive and behavioral skills coaching. She is dedicated to empowering her clients with practical tools and strategies to navigate life’s challenges effectively.
Priya finds deep fulfillment in working with teens, seeing them as catalysts for positive change and hope for future generations. Outside of her professional commitments, Priya enjoys spending time with family and friends, indulging in reading, and baking delicious treats.
