Hi, I’m Mick Lee, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist passionate about working with adolescents and children in residential treatment settings. I specialize in trauma work as well as treating children with autism spectrum disorder.

Although I obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, I changed careers to pursue my desire to work with individuals struggling with mental health and difficult family systems. I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles. My training background centers on trauma-focused therapies and substance abuse services, with further training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Child-Centered Play Therapy. I am involved in personal work with 12-step communities and spent a majority of my pre-graduate work providing mental health services to marginalized communities and people of color.

My approach to therapy involves patience and creating a safe and genuine environment. I prefer to build my approach from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also collaborating with fellow clinicians and using creativity to provide unique and specialized care for my clients.

Outside of therapy, I love being an introvert. I enjoy playing sports and surfing, stemming from my history as a professional athlete, but a majority of the time I prefer relaxing indoors playing games with friends or watching scary movies with my cat.

Overall, I love being a therapist and the passion I bring to my work stems from gratitude and love for those who supported me in my own mental health journey!
