Adam Silberstein, Psy.D is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been working in the mental health field since 1994. He has extensive experience working with a broad range of populations including individuals with obesity, chemical dependency, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and developmental disabilities.
Dr. Silberstein earned his doctoral degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1998 and completed his pre-doctoral internship at Camarillo State Hospital, working with the chronically mentally ill and developmentally disabled. He completed his postdoctoral training at Casa Pacifica Residential Treatment Center where he worked with adolescents with complex emotional and behavioral issues.
In 2000, after his postdoctoral training, Dr. Silberstein worked for the California Department of Corrections where he held a variety of clinical and administrative positions and was the director of a partial-hospitalization program. In furthering a deeper and more expansive clinical approach to dependency issues, Dr. Silberstein embarked on the pursuit of a widened practice devoted to addictive disorders.
In 2008, he became a consulting psychologist at Authentic Recovery Center, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. His responsibilities included group and individual therapy, as well as clinical supervision. Dr. Silberstein was the clinical director and co-founder of Westside Treatment, an intensive dual diagnosis outpatient program for the treatment of chemical dependency and accompanying mental health disorders. He currently is a Clinical Supervisor at Visions Adolescent Treatment Center. He maintains a private practice in West Los Angeles working with adolescents and adults with chemical dependency, process addictions, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders. Over the course of his career, and in each of his work settings, Dr. Silberstein has been passionately invested in the treatment of addictive disorders and compulsive behaviors.
