Shelby Bublitz, RDN

“Great things never come from comfort zones.”

Shelby Bublitz was raised by a family of educators and earned her bachelor’s from California State University, Channel Islands, where her focus was teaching and learning. She is driven by her experience that most of us learn by doing. Her love of traveling, culture, food, and science led her to the field of Dietetics. Shelby graduated from California State University, Los Angeles, as Summa Cum Laude of her class with a Master’s Degree in Nutritional Science. Through her work as a Dietitian Nutritionist, she soon realized how confusing our cultural norms and “diet-y” lifestyle can be for those who are trying to best take care of themselves.

Shelby finds freedom in helping others learn and apply healthful behaviors that promote a positive relationship with food and improve well-being. Since food is utilized to show love, to celebrate, to nourish ourselves, and is part of every community event and holiday, mending this relationship allows us to best take care of ourselves and return to our communities. This is Shelby’s overarching goal as a Dietitian Nutritionist.

Shelby grew up in Los Angeles so, naturally, her favorite vacation spots include nautical villages with gloomy weather (Nova Scotia, Norway, Ireland). Her favorite forms of exercise include dancing, roller-skating, kayaking, and hiking. Her all-time favorite movie is Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken. Her superpower would be an animal whisperer! Shelby enjoys living a balanced life and finds inspiration in the mountains and on the water where she spends most of her free time.
