Dr. Choy is a licensed clinical psychologist who earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from the Wright Institute in California. He has worked in VA hospitals, schools, community mental health agencies and most recently a private practice clinic with an intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization program.

In 2018, he became the clinical director of an intensive outpatient program in San Francisco which focuses on treating individuals with dual diagnosis. He has extensive experience working with diverse individuals experiencing a variety of problems from addiction, chronic health issues, anxiety, depression as well as complex trauma, bipolar, schizophrenia and borderline. Additionally, he has been trained through the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Foundational course by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., ABPP’s organization, Behavioral Tech.

He specializes in integrating evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to provide a unique, holistic and individual approach to healing, that is culturally sensitive, compassionate, warm and attentive.
