Emily Cohen joins Visions after fifteen years at a nationally recognized dual diagnosis and mental health treatment center, where she most recently served as CEO. Emily worked closely with the founder to create a program where clients and their families could heal and recover. Emily is passionate about recovery and helping people to find a “life worth living.”

After majoring in Sociology at The Evergreen State College in Washington State, Emily pursued counseling and non-profit administration for local mental health and drug treatment facilities. From 1997-2001, Emily worked for a social service agency where she honed her administrative and human resources skills, placing therapists and social workers in hospitals and various mental health settings. From 2001-2006, she worked as a paralegal, supporting a dynamic team of attorneys.

In 2006, Emily hit a career crossroads where she contemplated between pursuing a law degree or a career in mental health. She was hired as Administrative Director at Clearview Treatment Programs and has never looked back. She has been a supporter of Visions since its inception and is excited to join the team.

Emily is the proud mother of Chloe Huerta, a dedicated Visions Counselor, and also has a thirteen-year-old son. With an eighteen-year gap between children, Emily has the dubious distinction of being the mother of an adolescent for over 30 years! When she is not working, you will probably find Emily riding her bike on PCH in preparation for an Ironman triathlon or watching her son compete at tennis tournaments across Southern California.
