Karen Gurr, Psy.D is a licensed clinical psychologist and a member of the California Psychological Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, a Masters in Psychology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Prior to becoming a psychologist, she worked as a consultant in the healthcare industry.

In 2015, Dr. Gurr built the family program for an intensive dual diagnosis outpatient program for the treatment of chemical dependency and accompanying mental health disorders. In 2018, she became the clinical outreach liaison for a leading residential treatment program assisting treatment professionals and families in finding appropriate treatment placement for individuals in crisis. She is joining the Visions Treatment team as the Director of Clinical Relations.

Dr. Gurr maintains a private practice in Malibu and West Los Angeles, working with individuals, couples, and families struggling with chemical dependency, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and TBI. She is trained in a number of evidence-based modalities, as well as Brainspotting phases 1, 2, 3, and the addiction protocol, her preferred modality.

Dr. Gurr is passionate about helping individuals reach the other side of addiction and mental health struggles. Having experienced first hand the devastating effects of such untreated conditions, she believes given a chance and the right help, the lives of all involved will be improved and, for many, often saved.
