“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.” ― Muhammad Ali
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Connor Finn has spent the last several years building a career out of his passion for youth work. Driven by a desire to serve and support the people in his communities, he is always looking for opportunities to use his experience in education and youth programs to build character in the youth he comes into contact with. Connor has a B.A. in English Education from Boise State University, where he received his teaching credential as well.
Prior to Visions, Connor worked as a teacher at Crossroads Middle School, a public alternative school in Boise, Idaho. He taught English and Speech at 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels. At Crossroads, a Title I school, Connor gained considerable experience in working with students of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds and individualized needs. In 2019, Connor took an opportunity to move back to Los Angeles and serve as the Director of Youth & Teen Programs at the Culver-Palms Family YMCA. His role involved designing and executing multiple large-scale programs, all aimed at facilitating positive character development in youth.
Connor has worked with hundreds of youth to date, and now looks to combine his backgrounds in education and youth programs to ensure that students receive a quality education at Visions. He believes that building authentic rapport with students and their families, as well as setting high expectations with them, will lead to success in and out of the classroom.
Beyond work, Connor looks for any excuse to get outside and stay active. He loves a day in the ocean or on the mountain equally, never turns down a good cup of coffee, and believes music should be playing at all times. He finds joy in remaining involved with his volunteer work at the YMCA, uses poetry and photography as creative outlets, and is a die-hard, lifelong Lakers fan!
