Alexis Fahey is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, a member of CAMFT and is a therapist at the Mental Health and Wellness Center. She received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California and has extensive experience working with teens and their families in both a community mental health setting, as well as in a residential treatment center. Alexis has experience working with dual diagnosis, personality and mood disorders, trauma, eating disorders, suicidal ideation and self harm, as well as family dynamic issues and identity work.
As a person-centered therapist, Alexis is dedicated to being an empathetic witness to client’s healing and provides them a safe space for that to take place. She is passionate about healing the family system as well as assisting teens in their journey of self-exploration and growth. Alexis utilizes CBT, ACT, DBT and family systems theories in her work with clients. She is also trained in EMDR and mindfulness techniques and incorporates those into her work with clients as needed. In addition to her work at Visions, Alexis has a private practice in Los Angeles where she works with teens, families and young adults.
Alexis is a born and raised Angeleno, having lived here her whole life. She loves Los Angeles and is inspired and grateful to be working with the younger population that will be leaders in their communities one day. In her free time, Alexis can be found hanging out with family, friends and her dogs, watching documentaries, reading books and exploring new places.
